Short answer
A practical stack has three layers. Draft: Rytr for short copy (from $7.50/mo billed yearly), or Koala, SEOWriting.ai or Scalenut for long SEO articles. Check: Originality.ai for AI and plagiarism screening (free Basic tier, Pro $12.95/mo billed annually). Edit: a human editor for facts and voice; WriteHuman can smooth stiff AI phrasing, but no tool guarantees how a detector will score text and that should never be the goal.
Picks are based on published plans and features, not hands-on testing yet.

How to choose
Start from your bottleneck
If you struggle to start, a drafting tool helps. If you publish fast but quality slips, an editor and a checker help more than another generator.
Price per publishable article
Tools sell words, credits, articles or requests. Divide the plan price by the number of pieces you would actually publish after editing, not the number the tool can generate.
Keep a human in charge of facts
AI tools can invent statistics, quotes and prices. Verify every number against a primary source and date it, as we do on this page.
Use detectors carefully
AI detectors (Originality.ai, WriteHuman’s built-in detector) estimate probabilities and can be wrong. Use them to flag drafts for review, never as proof against a writer.
Write for readers, not detectors
Google says it rewards helpful, reliable content regardless of how it is produced, and treats mass-produced, low-value pages as spam. A humanizer cannot fix thin content.
1. Scalenut
Best for: marketers and agencies running content-led SEO.
Scalenut now pitches itself around AI search visibility (GEO): it tracks prompts across AI answers and produces articles and content clusters. On Oct 15, 2026 annual prices were shown with a 60%-off limited offer (Starter $24/mo billed annually vs $59 monthly). Limitations: no free-forever plan (a 7-day trial instead), and the headline annual prices are promotional, so check what renewal costs.

Best for: bloggers and affiliate sites publishing content at volume.
SEOWriting.ai generates SEO articles in bulk and can publish straight to WordPress or Shopify, with brand voices and internal linking on paid plans. The free tier covers 3 articles. Limitations: bulk generation makes it easy to publish thin pages; plan an edit pass for every article and avoid publishing at a scale you cannot review.

3. Koala AI
Best for: site owners who want an AI agent to plan and write SEO articles.
Koala (KoalaWriter) writes long-form SEO and affiliate-style articles. Plans are sold by words per month: 45,000 on Starter ($25/mo), 100,000 on Professional ($49/mo) and 250,000 on Boost ($99/mo); annual billing saves 20%. Limitations: affiliate roundups written by AI still need real product knowledge and verified prices; Google’s spam policies call out thin affiliate content.

Best for: freelancers and small businesses that need quick, affordable copy.
Rytr is a low-cost assistant for short-form writing: emails, social posts, product descriptions and outlines. Unlimited is $7.50/mo billed yearly; Premium ($24.16/mo billed yearly) adds 35+ languages and more plagiarism checks. Limitations: it is not built for long, researched SEO articles, and the free plan is capped at 10K characters a month.

Best for: publishers, editors and agencies vetting content.
Originality.ai is the checking layer: AI detection, plagiarism checks, fact checking and readability. Pro includes 2,000 credits a month (1 credit = 100 words). Limitations: AI detection is probabilistic and can produce false positives, especially on short or heavily edited text; the free Basic tier is AI detection only, 3 scans a day.

6. WriteHuman
Best for: writers who want AI drafts to read more naturally.
WriteHuman rewrites AI-generated text so it reads more naturally and includes its own AI detector. Plans are sold by requests per month and words per request (600 words per request on Basic). Use it as an editing aid for stiff phrasing, then edit the result yourself. Limitations: it does not add facts, expertise or originality; we do not recommend using it to pass off AI writing as human where that is not allowed (schools, some clients and platforms), and no tool can guarantee a detector result.

What is the best AI writing tool for SEO?
For long SEO articles, Koala, SEOWriting.ai and Scalenut are built for that job; Scalenut adds AI-search visibility tracking. We have not finished hands-on testing, so we list facts rather than scores.
Will Google penalize AI-written content?
Google says it focuses on content quality rather than how content is produced, but mass-produced pages made mainly to rank violate its spam policies. Edited, accurate, genuinely useful AI-assisted content is fine; unedited bulk output is risky.
Can WriteHuman make AI text undetectable?
No tool can guarantee that, and we do not recommend trying. Use WriteHuman, if at all, to improve readability, then edit and fact-check yourself, and follow the AI-use rules of your school, client or platform.
Is Originality.ai accurate?
No AI detector is perfect. Treat scores as a signal for a human reviewer, not as proof. Originality.ai also offers plagiarism and fact checks, which are often more actionable.
How we put this together
We read each vendor’s official pricing and feature pages on Oct 15, 2026 and copied prices, free-plan limits and plan names exactly as listed (USD). We have not run hands-on tests for these tools yet, so there are no scores, and we do not publish user counts or reviews we cannot verify.
